TAIWAN

'Peng  Hu Islands, composed of 90 islands and islets in Taiwan, is my  hometown. I grew up by the sea. Stone fish weirs are obstructions built  in tidal areas, and are one of the remaining methods of traditional  fishing in the world. Despite population sprawl, many old stone weirs  remain. In Peng Hu, our ancestors built different stone weir structures.  To keep these precious memories and historical stories, I have visited  and documented nearly 700 stone weirs with drones, and with photos and  interviews, I started an information platform for Peng Hu weirs. I sincerely  hope this information can contribute to conservation of stone weirs to  understand ancient wisdom in a fast-changing world with sprawling  populations, and I look forward to seeing stone weirs becoming potential  world heritage areas.'
